Murray A. FeldmanMurray A. Feldman, 94, of Southfield, MIchigan, died on 15 October 2022. The Memorial Service was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL - GARDEN CHAPEL on Sunday, 23 October 2022 at 2:00 PM . Rabbi Marla Hornsten officiated. Murray Arthur Feldman, O.D. , 94, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2022 in Southfield, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents Lily (Wise) and Sam Feldman. Murray was born in Detroit on September 10,1928. He graduated from Detroit's Central High School and attended Wayne State University where he considered journalism as a career choice. He was a cub reporter for a short time at the Detroit Free Press prior to attending the Illinois School of Optometry in Chicago. Upon graduating he practiced in Detroit and enjoyed caring for his optical patients for many years and treated generations of them. He retired in 2021. As a young adult, Murray played baseball for years followed by playing handball competitively and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed the visual and performing arts and had a knack for trivia, Jeopardy and New York Times crossword puzzles. He spoke fondly of being a counselor at Fresh Air Society (Camp Tamarack). Murray had no siblings and leaves behind three daughters, Marci Feldman (Dirk Kroll), Felice Hibbard, and Suzanne Feldman (Brian Ligotti). He had five grandchildren: Jessica Escalona, Rochelle Trimble, James Hayes, Lianna Trimble (Dereck Seltzer), and Lauren Wierzbicki (Alex Gallo) and three great-grandchildren: Marissa Escalona, Leila Escalona, and Mia Dalton.
