Hilda Fortgang
Hilda Fortgang, 90, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 19 August 2019. The Funeral was held at The David Oppenheim Memorial Chapel at Machpelah Cemetery, 21701 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220 on Wednesday, 21 August 2019 at 11:30 AM . Rabbi Aaron Starr; Rabbi Yonatan Dahlen; Hazzan David Propis and Asst. Cantor Leonard Gutman officiated. Click  to watch a video of the recorded service.Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
The family of Hilda Fortgang will be gathering through the evening of Thursday, August 22 at the residence of Harriet and Gregg Orley, 335 Barden Road, Bloomfield Hills MI 48304. Immediately following burial at Machpelah, the family requests privacy until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will gather from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday; and on Thursday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Religious services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Family members include: Beloved wife of the late Harold Fortgang. Dear mother of Harriet (Fortgang) and Gregg Orley. Grandmother of Ryan (Heidi) Orley and Emily (Jason) Jacob. Also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jack Kaufman; grandchildren Erin and Michael (Lindsey) Kaufman. Great-grandmother of Carter. Hilda will be remembered by her family, nieces, nephews and friends for her expert knitting, always remembering to send a birthday card and most of all, her kindness. Hilda’s family greatly appreciates everyone’s generosity and expression of sympathy at this difficult time.
