Gerald Gilbert
Gerald Gilbert, 85, of Bountiful, Utah, died on 02 November 2011. The Funeral was held at The Davidson/Hermelin Chapel at Clover Hill Park, 2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham MI 48009 on Wednesday, 09 November 2011 at 11:30 AM . Rabbi Tamara Kolton officiated. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Family members include: Beloved husband of Donna Gilbert of Bountiful, Utah. Cherished father of Leah Forster of Salt Lake City, Utah and Bruce Gilbert of Wayne, MI. Loving grandfather of Lucas Gilbert. Devoted son of the late David M. and Lillian Gilbert. Dear brother of the late Marilyn Freedman. Jerry was born December 4, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Lillian and David M. Gilbert. Jerry was the older of two children. He graduated from Central High in Detroit and attended Wayne University. Jerry worked for his father at Standard Blue Print where he met the company’s bookkeeper, Donna. After six years of dating, they married on October 31, 1965. Jerry worked for many years in the blue printing industry, including Giffels & Associates in Detroit. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and could quote statistics of all the Detroit sports teams. Jerry did all he could to ensure that his children lived a more comfortable life than he did.
