Dr. Oscar SchwartzDr. Oscar Schwartz, 97, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, died on 22 November 2008. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Monday, 24 November 2008 at 2:30 PM . Rabbi Daniel Syme and Cantor Annie Rose officiated. Interment at Beth El Memorial Park, 28120 6 Mile Road, Livonia MI 48152.
Family members include: Beloved father of Ellen(Jeoffrey)Stross. Devoted grandfather of Wendy(Van)Katzman and Jonathan Stross. Proud great-grandfather of Jack Dylan Katzman and Carly Elizabeth Katzman. Loving husband of the late Beatrice Abrams Schwartz and the late Lillian Kaplan Schwrtz. Cherished companion of Jule Berman for 14 years. Dear brother of the late Harry(the late Bertha)Schwartz, the late Rose(the late DavId)Sugar, the late Cyrille(the late Albert)Friedman and the late Meyer Schwartz. A retired dermatologist in the Detroit and Southfield areas, he graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1934. From 1942 to 1946, he served as a Lt. Col in the Army Medical Corps. A board member for many years of the Fresh Air Society, he also worked as a tutor for the Literacy Volunteers of Detroit.
