Martin ScheerMartin Scheer, 91, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 19 January 2017. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Monday, 23 January 2017 at 2:00 PM . The family of Martin Scheer will be gathering through the evening of Tuesday, January 24 at the residence of Carol and Mark Steffes, 3270 Edgewood Park Drive, Commerce Twp MI 48382. The family will be gathering immediately following interment on Monday and on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Religious services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday evening. Family members include: Beloved husband of 70 years of Frances Scheer. Cherished father of Anne (the late Timothy) Wright, Susan (Sem) Dacosta-Scheer, Carol (Mark) Steffes, and Beth (Joe) McMurray. Loving grandfather of Aiya (Elad) Kravi, Zeev (Shani) Mayan-Scheer, Guy Scheer, Bryan (Kristin) Golemba, Rachel (Daniel) Navarre, Joseph McMurray (fiancee Sara Chiaravalle), and Benjamin (Sidney) McMurray. Great-grandfather of Rotem, Ido and Alon Kravi, Shachar and Ori Mayan-Scheer, Keagan and Riley Golemba. Martin served in the Navy during WWII as a Photographer from 1943-1946. He received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, & World War II Victory Medal. Martin and his brother Philip Scheer started "Scheer's Trading Post" in Ferndale, Michigan in 1946. Then joined Ace Hardware in the early 1950's to become "Scheer's Ace Hardware and Supply, Inc." in Oak Park, Michigan on 9 mile road. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend to many throughout his years. His companionship and sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends.
