Lane Benjamin Lesko



Lane Benjamin Lesko, 19, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died on 21 June 2016.

The Funeral was held at The Davidson/Hermelin Chapel at Clover Hill Park, 2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham MI 48009 on Sunday, 26 June 2016 at 12:30 PM .

Rabbi David Nelson and Cantor Howard Glantz officiated.

The family of Lane Benjamin Lesko will be gathering through Thursday evening, June 30, 2016.

On Sunday
the family will gather at the home of Betsy and Mike Winkelman, 3132 Shadydale Lane, West Bloomfield MI 48323 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a Religious Service being held at 7:00 p.m. and
on Monday
from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Religious Service at 7:00 p.m.

The family will gather in Ann Arbor
on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with Religious Services at 7:00 p.m. at the residence of Patricia and Marjorie Lesko, 817 Brookside Drive, Ann Arbor MI 48105. The phone number is 734-741-8195.

On June 21 Lane Benjamin Lesko, 19, died suddenly in New England. Lane was a 2015 graduate of Community High School and lived in Ann Arbor with his family. At Community, Lane was involved in Youth and Government, theater as well as a delegate to two Model UN conferences. He co-founded Community's first Jewish Student Union club. An active volunteer in the Ann Arbor community, Lane worked at the Delonis Center, Food Gatherers and the Leslie Science and Nature Center. He was also a volunteer at Temple Beth Emeth, where he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah. At TBE, Lane worked as a Madrich (teacher's assistant) in the Temple's Religious School.

Lane will be missed by his loving parents, Patricia and Marjorie Lesko, his brother Bram, grandparents Mike and Betsy Winkelman of West Bloomfield, Aunt Amy Winkelman and Uncle Gary Blackman of Montclair, New Jersey, Uncle Steven Winkelman and Aunt Heather Batchelor of Montreal, Canada, Uncle Guy Malamud and Aunt Revital Liraz Malamud of Omer, Israel, cousins Emma, Emily and Benny, family friends and other relatives.

Just prior to his death, while in a residential program to treat his bipolar disorder, Lane had summited Speckled Mountain in Maine and rock climbed for the first time. Lane was remembered by Rabbi Aharon Goldstein of Ann Arbor Chabad as a "genuine and gentle soul." May Lane's memory be for a blessing. ZT"L.
