Bernard Ekelman, 88, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 22 June 2016. The Funeral was held at The Davidson/Hermelin Chapel at Clover Hill Park, 2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham MI 48009 on Friday, 24 June 2016 at 10:00 AM . Rabbi Josh Bennett officiated. Family members include: Beloved husband of 68 years of Lois Ekelman; Cherished father of David (Lori) Ekelman, Ronnie Ekelman and Linda (Andy) Adelson; Adored Papa and Skipper of Justin Beckwith, Jason Beckwith and Amanda Adelson; Devoted son of the late Nate D. and the late Rose Ekelman; Brother-in-law of Arthur (the late Claudia) Koenig Jr. and Robert (May) Koenig. Bernard Ekelman was best known for his ownership in Shades of Gold, an optical fashion store located in the Northland Shopping Center in Southfield.
