Harriett Goldman



Harriett Goldman, 102, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, died on 10 May 2016.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Friday, 13 May 2016 at 11:00 AM .

Rabbi Aaron Starr and Assistant Cantor Leonard Gutman officiated.

The family of Harriett Goldman will be gathering through the evening of Monday, May 16 at the residence of Paula and Norman Miller, 30864 Sunderland Drive, Farmington Hills MI 48331. The phone number is 248-661-5271.

Friends are welcome to visit on Sunday and Monday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Religious services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and Monday evenings.

Family members include:
Beloved wife of the late David Goldman. Cherished mother of Paula (Norman) Miller and Dr. Alan (Sandra) Goldman. Proud grandmother of Karen Safran, Deborah (George Rooney) Safran and Loren Goldman. Loving sister of Lawrence Silverman, the late Milton (the late Jeanette) Silverman, and the late Leah Hoffman. Dear sister-in-law of the late Lillian (the late Nathan) Rubenstein, the late Sylvia (the late Louis) Tunick, and the late Mildred (the late Harry) Myers. Devoted daughter of the late Charles and the late Pauline Silverman. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and her numerous dedicated caregivers.

Harriett attended the College of the City of Detroit (now WSU) and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in addition to her Business Education. She taught in the Detroit and Bloomfield Hill School systems. Harriett was the FIRST Jewish President of the Detroit Panhellenic Association, the overseer of the Sororities on Wayne State's campus. She was a member of Iota Alpha Pi. She was a member of the Women of Wayne and received their "Woman of Valor" award. Harriett served a Block Captain for the March of Dimes.
