Our family’s anchor, Fred S. Findling z”l, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on April 30.

His six children called him Siegfried the Dragon Slayer, a name he embraced. His 13 grandkids knew him as Grandpa Ziggy. His beloved wife, Luba, called him Freddy. He earned all of those appellations, and more, leading a life of courage, compassion, charisma, and love. His heart, crushed by the loss of his parents during the Holocaust, repeatedly replenished by the family he created, finally failed him at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of 20 years of Luba Findling. Cherished father of David (Jen) Findling, Debbie Findling (Steven Moss), Daniel (Lisa) Findling, Darren (Alyson) Findling, Tamara Findling (Andrey Noskov), Tim Findling. Loving grandfather of Emily, Ryan, Justin, and Hannah Findling, Noah, Ben, and Levi Findling, Sara Moss, Charlie, Ethan, and Ivy Findling, Ava Noskov, and Aiden Noskov. Brother of Joseph (Elaine) Findling, Fannie (the late Dr. Jack) Labin, Martin (Elaine) Findling, and the late Regina (Hale) Clark. Son of the late Etla and the late Wolf David Findling.

Shiva minyanim will be held each evening at 7 pm from Thursday, May 2, and on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening (with the exception of Shabbat, May 3) at Fred and Luba’s home, 31006 Westwood Drive, Farmington Hills, Michigan 48331.
