Dr. Melvyn David Wolf
Dr. Melvyn David Wolf, 91, of Flint, Michigan, died on 06 February 2024. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Friday, 09 February 2024 at 11:00 AM . Leonard Meizlish officiated. Dr. Melvyn David Wolf, a loving, dedicated, and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on February 6, 2024, in Flint, Michigan. Born on August 10, 1932, Melvyn was a brilliant and wonderful individual who had profound impact on the lives of those around him. Melvyn served his country with honor and distinction as a Captain and doctor of the US Army in Fort Benning, Georgia from 1958 to 1960. Melvyn completed his Orthopedic residency in Cincinnati and pursued a successful career as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Flint McLaren Hospital. He also held the position of Residency Director for Orthopedic Surgery. His dedication and training of residents positively impacted countless lives. Beyond his professional and family commitments, Melvyn had a passion for collecting pewter and was a partner with his wife, Bette Wolf, in Wolf Pewter. He also enjoyed indulging in his hobby of model railroading, which brought him joy and relaxation. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the following organizations that were close to Melvyn’s heart: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Jdrf.org), Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (https://on-line. crohnscolitisfoundation.org), or Congregation Beth Israel, Flint, Michigan (https://cbi flint.org). Your support will help continue the important work of these organizations. Melvyn is survived by his beloved wife, Bette Aaron Wolf of nearly 70 years, and their children: Larry Wolf (Mara), Marty Wolf (Michelle), Mitch Wolf (Suzanne), and Andrea Block (Peter Block). He was a cherished grandfather to Zachary Wolf, Kayley (Boris Raskin) with great-grandson Braxton and great-granddaughter Ziva, Abby Wolf, Jessica (Norman Schwartz) and great-granddaughter Sadie, Drew Delucchi (Rakell) with great-granddaughter Scarlet and great-grandson August, Stephanie Wolf (Srini Jayaraman), Benjamin Wolf (Kate Snyder) and great-granddaughter Eleanor, Jacob Ferrall Wolf (Isa), Sam Block (Elyssa Cherney) and great-grandson Caleb, Molly Block, and Nate Block. Melvyn Wolf will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
