The Funeral was held at Graveside at Beth El Memorial Park, 28120 W 6 Mile Rd, Livonia MI 48152 on Thursday, 17 August 2023 at 2:00 PM . Rabbi Megan Brudney and Cantor Rachel Kalmowitz officiated. The family of Muriel Warshawsky Posner will be gathering through the evening of Thursday, August 17 at the residence of Ken and Gail Posner, 506 E. University, Royal Oak MI 48067. Family and friends will be gathering on Thursday immediately following the interment until 8:30 p.m. Muriel Warshawsky Posner, 93, of Southfield passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 11. Muriel was born in Detroit on July 3, 1930, to Gertrude and Isaac Warshawsky. She was a devoted wife of 58 years to her late husband, Seymour Posner; a loving mother of Cantor Gail Posner (Rabbi Henry) Karp, Ken (Gail Fredrick) Posner, and Sandra Posner (Ken Wedes) Posner; a doting grandmother of Shira Posner (Chaz Haws), Joshua Posner, and Helene Posner Karp, Alan (Michelle Rubinlicht) and Jeremy (Allison Profitt) Posner, and Justin (Rachel Rudman) Wedes, Erica (Jeff Johnson) Wedes, and Emily (Zach) Berlin; a adoring great grandmother / Double Bubbie of Asher and Owen Posner, Parker Posner, Emunah and Shai Wedes, Zoey and Cecilia Johnson; a fond sister of the late Sandford (wives the late Shirley and Diane) Ward; and a caring sister-in-law of Marvin (Jacqueline) Posner. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Muriel worked as a school librarian in the Hazel Park School District and as a vocational librarian for the Jewish Vocational Service. For several years she was a teacher in the Temple Israel religious school. While her first passion was her husband and her family, her other passions included international travel, Mah Jong, books and movies.
