Herman Goldsmith, 91, of Waterford, Michigan, died after sunset on 26 April 2023.
The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Sunday, 30 April 2023 at 10:00 AM .
Rabbi Megan Brudney officiated.

Interment at Beth El Memorial Park, 28120 6 Mile Road, Livonia MI 48152.
The family of Herman Goldsmith will be gathering through the evening of Monday, May 01 at the residence of Barbara Goldsmith, 2868 Woodbine Drive, Waterford MI 48328.
Family and friends will be gathering following interment until 5:00 p.m. and then from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Religious services will be held on Sunday and Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Herman Goldsmith passed away at home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. A native Detroiter, Herman held many jobs but he’s best known as the owner of Joe’s Army Navy stores. He prided himself on his work ethic and even when he retired he continued to go into the store every day because it brought him so much joy. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Barbara Goldsmith, his children Dana (Gail) Lawrence, Jemmis (Bob) Lawrence-Plant and Jeff (Sue) Goldsmith; his grandchildren Noah (Megan) Lawrence, Collin (Liza) Lawrence, Robin (Rachel) Lawrence, Alec Goldsmith, Sophie Lawrence, Samantha Goldsmith and Sarah Plant; his great-grandchildren Alonzo, Victor, Clio, Alexis, Astrid and Mavis. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Morris Goldsmith, his brothers Thomas Goldsmith and Harvey Goldsmith and great-granddaughter Beatrix Lawrence.
