Frederick "Fred" Schatz



Frederick "Fred" Schatz, 87, of West Bloomfield, MI, died on 06 April 2023.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Monday, 10 April 2023 at 2:00 PM .

Rabbi Joshua Bennett officiated.

The family of Frederick "Fred" Schatz will be gathering through the evening of Tuesday, April 11 at the residence of Enid Schatz, 7129 Pebble Park Drive, West Bloomfield MI 48322.

Family and friends will be gathering following the interment until 8:30p.m. on Monday and on Tuesday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Religious services will be held both Monday and Tuesday at 7:00pm.

Family members include:
Beloved wife, Enid Schatz. Cherished father of Michael Schatz, Lisa (Richard) Broder, and Rick (Monica) Schatz. Proud grandfather of Avery, Aaron, Alden, and Beckett Schatz; Rachel (Daniel) Kessler and Erica Broder; Ryan (Fiancée Kate), Marlee, and Mia Schatz. He is survived by Enid’s children, Michael (Beth) Kupsov and Steven Kupsov and grandchildren Hannah, Jordan, Sydney and Jaron as well as many loving nephews, nieces and friends. Fred is the brother of the late Harvey Schatz and the late Susie (the late Leo) Knight. He was the son of the late Maurice and Gertrude Schatz. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Suzanne Schatz.

Fred was born in Detroit, Michigan. Fred was a graduate of Mumford High School and the University of Michigan. He was a past International President of Zeta Beta Tau and anExecutive Trustee of the Eta Chapter of Zeta Beta Tau at the University of Michigan. Fred will be remembered as the ultimate University of Michigan sports fan, together with many other Detroit sports teams.
