Claire Rose Lipten, Ph.D., 93, of Delray Beach, Florida, died on 28 August 2022. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Wednesday, 31 August 2022 at 12:00 PM . Rabbi Tamara Kolton officiated. Click  to watch a video of the recorded service.Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
The family of Claire Rose Lipten, Ph.D. will be gathering through the evening of Thursday, September 01 at the residence of Lori Lipten, 5373 Echo Road, Bloomfield Hills MI 48302. Family and friends will be gathering on Wednesday immediately following the interment until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Religious services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Claire Rose Lipten, Ph.D., 92, died on August 28, 2022, in Delray Beach Florida. She was born August 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, to Gershon (Harry) Weiss and Monia (Minnie nee Neischtadt). Claire served as a professor at Wayne State University in Sociology and within the Medical School. She taught and fought for civil rights and gender equality before going into private practice as a marital and family therapist. Claire was married to the love of her life, Seymour, for 49 years. She was an avid golfer, bridge player, remarkable cook, talented decorator and lover of the arts. She traveled the world and loved to learn. She was still taking college courses at the time of her death. She had a charm that warmed people’s hearts and a smile that lit up the room. Her Jewish identity was central to her life. Claire is predeceased by her husband Seymour, son Scott and brothers Leo and Murray. She is survived by her daughters Lori Lipten of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Stacie Lipten of Delray Beach, FL and her precious granddaughter, Samantha Buyers; many beloved nieces and nephews.
