David Cohen



David Cohen, 87, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, died on 03 October 2021.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Wednesday, 06 October 2021 at 11:00 AM .

Rabbi Aaron Bergman and Cantor Daniel Gross officiated.

Family members include:
Beloved husband of 62 1/2 years of Sylvia Cohen. Cherished father of Jeffrey (Marlene) Cohen, Daniel (Cari) Cohen, and Douglas (Allyson) Cohen. Proud grandfather of Aaron Ephlin, and Jared, Jacob, Seth, Lacey, and Tony Cohen. Loving brother of the late Jean Cohen and the late Edward Cohen. Dear brother-in-law of Molly (Gary) Parro, Mitzi (Michael) Ashe, and the late Nathaniel (the late Vivienne) Ackman. Devoted son of the late Abraham and the late Anna Cohen. Loving son-in-law of the late Louis and the late Dorothy Ackman. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a world of friends.

David graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1956, where he lettered in football and track. He was a Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1955 and 1956. David began his professional career as a school teacher and coach in Long Island, New York, then transitioned to a long sales career. Upon moving to Michigan, he worked as a manufacturer’s representative. He was in the President’s Club for Levi’s in the women’s wear division in 1983.

He was a retired Naval Commander. David served as President as well as Umpire and Chief Manager for NFWB Little League baseball. He was the President of the North Farmington High School Booster Club for eight years.

Through all of his accomplishments, David was most proud of his family. He devoted his life to his wife, children and grandchildren, and that devotion and admiration extended to his extended family and friends as well.

The family will be sitting shiva privately on Wednesday.

On Thursday, family and friends will be gathering from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Adat Shalom Synagogue, located at 29901 Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334. Religious services will be held at Adat Shalom on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
