Geraldine Barbara Sills, 87, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 16 April 2021.

The Funeral was A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE on Monday, 19 April 2021 at 1:00 PM .

Rabbi Daniel Syme officiated.

Family members include:
Daughter of the late Sarah and Nathan Zlatkin; beloved sister of Albert H. Zlatkin passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Her death was 5 months preceded by her husband of 68 years, Dr. Richard D. Sills. She was the wonderful, loving mother of Dr Laurel Sills, Kenneth Sills, Randall Sills and Dr Michael (Edita) Sills and beloved grandmother to Jennifer M. Sills and Daniel M. Sills. She also leaves behind her amazingly loyal little dog, Lanny. “Geri”, as she was known by her friends and family had received a bachelors degree in English Literature and she had tutored college students. She had been active for many years in her local community association. She and Dr. Richard shared a lifetime common love for classical music, especially opera; their children and grandchildren; and for dogs. She will be sorely missed.

Metro Detroit’s Jewish funeral homes have agreed that families should follow the directive of Centers for Disease Control and restrict the size of gatherings to no more than 25 people inside and 50 at graveside.

For now, in-person funeral attendance will be limited to only immediate family. Otherwise, funerals may be viewed live and recorded on chapel websites.

Together, we thank the community for understanding during this unusual and challenging time.
