Marion Freedman, 76, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 12 September 2020.

The Funeral was on Monday, 14 September 2020 at 11:00 AM .

Rabbi Mark Miller, Rabbi Megan Brudney, and Cantor Rachel Kalmowitz officiated.

The family welcomes friends for drive-up condolences beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Temple Beth El driveway just prior to the private service on Monday, September 14th.

A PRIVATE family outdoor funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth El, 7400 Telegraph Rd., Bloomfield Township, MI 48301. The private service will be broadcast on a large outdoor screen, viewable from your car. The service will also be livestreamed on the Ira Kaufman Chapel website, on the above link.

Family members include:
Beloved wife of 56 years of Dr. Michael Freedman. Cherished mother of Jeffrey Freedman (Karen Silagi), Dr. Laura Freedman (Jeffrey Shanbom), and Steven Freedman (Helen Sideris). Loving grandmother of Benjamin Freedman, Ethan Freedman, Aidan Freedman, Brady Freedman, Scott Shanbom, Zachary Shanbom, and Matthew Shanbom. Dear sister of Murray (Myra Eder) Helfer. Devoted daughter of the late Sylvia and the late James Helfer. Daughter-in-law of the late Lou and the late Esther Freedman. Loving and adored canines Daisy, Dandie, Dahlie, Dolly, Princess, Dixie, and Roxie.

Marion was a Social Worker for the Jewish Federation of Metropolitian Detroit. She earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. She was a proud Past-President of Temple Beth El, a lifetime member of Hadassah, a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, and a dear colleague and friend to many.

Following the zoom shiva, beginning at 7:30 p.m., there will be drive thru shiva for anyone who would like to stop by and offer their condolences at Michael's house, located at 4733 Fairway Ridge S., West Bloomfield, MI 48323.

Metro Detroit’s Jewish funeral homes have agreed that families should follow the directive of Centers for Disease Control and restrict the size of gatherings to no more than 36.

For now, in-person funeral attendance will be limited to only immediate family. Otherwise, funerals may be viewed live and recorded on chapel websites.
