Jack FinkJack Fink, 89, of Royal Oak, Michigan, died on 12 July 2019. The Funeral was held at GRAVESIDE on Tuesday, 23 July 2019 at 1:30 PM . Click to watch a video of the recorded service. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Jack passed away peacefully holding the hand of the person who loved him best, his companion and dearest friend of over 60 years, Willodean Wolczynski. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Mollie Fink, and his brother David Fink. Jack was a proud Veteran. He attained the rank of sergeant in the Army Air Corp and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans of MI and the American Legion. He was a successful sales and manufacturing rep before founding “J Fink & Co”. While retired he became president of the Royalwood Co-op board and was a devoted volunteer for many years at the Oak Park Senior Center. Jack is survived by his sister Beatrice Fink Daniel of Ashburn, Va, and niece Hilary Daniel Engelhardt of St. Louis, MO, who remembers him fondly and grieves deeply. He was the funniest guy she knew, a born raconteur always available with a childhood story that never quite reconciled with his sister Bea’s – Hilary‘s mother – version. Her fondest memories are Jack and Willo attending her wedding in 2005 to Steven Engelhardt and their long trip in to be at her father’s Memorial Service in 2016, even though the Parkinson’s had taken hold by then. Ian and Austin Dabney, his grand nephews, were proud to have him in their lives and loved him deeply. It is suggested that those who wish to further honor the memory of Jack Fink may do so by making a contribution to: Jewish War VeteransClick to Visit Charity Website or Parkinson's Foundation of MichiganClick to Visit Charity Website or Any Jewish Charity |
