Dr. Jeffrey Gorosh
Dr. Jeffrey Gorosh, 63, of Southfield, Michigan, died on 04 July 2019. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Sunday, 07 July 2019 at 1:00 PM . Rabbi Joshua Bennett and Rabbi Herschel Finman officiated. Click  to watch a video of the recorded service.Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
The family of Dr. Jeffrey Gorosh will be gathering through the evening of Sunday, July 07 at the residence of Neil Gorosh and Dr. Marla Rowe Gorosh, 6071 Northfield, West Bloomfield MI 48322. Religious services will be conducted at 7:00 Sunday evening. Dr. Jeffrey Gorosh of Southfield died early on the morning of July 4th, 2019. He was 63 years old. Jeffrey was the beloved father of Sean and Hannah Gorosh and Katie and Chase Landry as well as grandson Brody. He was predeceased by his parents Norma and Larry Gorosh and grandparents Julius and Anna Spielberg and Clara and Alexander Gorosh. Jeffrey graduated from Southfield-Lathrup High School in 1974. He received a B.S. from the University of Michigan in 1978 and went on to graduate from the Des Moines School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983. Jeffrey also completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery and practiced medicine as an orthopedic surgeon until suffering a massive, ruptured cerebral hemorrhage in 2012. Jeffrey spent nearly three months in a coma at that time. Miraculously, Jeffrey eventually awoke from the coma with his ability to speak and long term memory intact. Despite numerous medical setbacks along the way, Jeff never gave up his efforts at rehabilitation and the hope of one day being able to live independently once again. Neither did he ever complain or display anger at his condition and unlike many others with frontal lobe damage, his personality stayed as sweet as the young kid who grew up in Oak Park, Michigan, the middle child of five brothers. When asked how he was doing, Jeff’s answer was invariably the same, “Just living the dream”. Jeffrey was a man of many interests and he pursued each of them with great passion. His love of music ranged from the Big Band era to Alison Krause and he was, by all accounts, a major Parrot Head (Jimmy Buffett fan). He was a serious collector of many things including baseball cards, sports memorabilia, animation art and movie posters. He had a particular love of Grace Kelly which is odd considering Jeff was born in the year she gave up her acting career. Jeffrey was extremely proud of his entire family who will all miss him very much. They include his sons Sean (fiancé Nina along with daughter Peyton) and Chase as well as his daughters Hannah and Katie and grandson Brody. Jeff is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Alan and Rhona, Neil and Marla, Bruce and Tammy, and Richard.
