Emanuel "Manny" Silverman



Emanuel "Manny" Silverman, 101, of Huntington Woods, Michigan, died after sunset on 08 March 2018.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL - GARDEN CHAPEL on Monday, 12 March 2018 at 11:00 AM .

Rabbi Joseph Krakoff officiated. Interment at Eden Memorial Park Cemetery.

Emanuel Silverman known as Manny was a practical man. He was a photographer, scientist, and inventor. He will be remembered for his kind heart and great love for his wife Babs.

Manny was born in Yarmealenitz Russia. He migrated to America thru Montreal Canada with his parents Meyer and Ester Silverman (Fried). He grew up in Brooklyn New York.

He assisted his father in his photography studio and later opened his own studio in Greenwich Village while attending Cooper Union on Scholarship; he also attended Harvard & MIT. Manny loved education.

Manny was in the calvary. After the service he had a business on North End, Oak Park Tool & Dye, in Oak Park where he was responsible for the invention of the rear screen projection system and natural grown rubies for the purpose of laser machinery, as we know it today.

Manny then moved to California where he resided for over 40 years until coming to Michigan in 2007.

He is the beloved husband of Barbara Silverman, 1st cousin to Leon Bleifeld (Renee Bleifeld) 2nd cousin to Vicki Howard (Devlin Burton) and 3rd cousin to Scott Howard (Summer Howard).

All who got the chance to know him, loved him and will miss his wisdom, sweet heart and kind nature.

Manny will lie to rest beside his beloved wife Babs in Los Angeles California.
