Sue was the quintessential example of a modern woman, one who was "ahead of her time." Born in Detroit in 1931, during an era when most woman didn't have the opportunities they have today, she became a very proud graduate of the University of Michigan in 1952.

Shortly thereafter, she received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and then returned to the Detroit area to work in the advertising department at Hudson's. Her next career step took her to Highland Park Community College, where she taught classes in marketing, business, and business communications.

After approximately twenty years at HPCC, Sue decided to pursue a career in law. She graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy at the age of 55 and immediately began a 25-year practice that was dedicated to assisting those who couldn't help themselves. She represented the elderly, developmentally disabled persons, neglected and abused children, and anyone else whose interests needed protection. Sue was a sought-after mentor of young attorneys, as well as a speaker at countless legal seminars and meetings. During her time as a practicing attorney, she also resumed her teaching career, this time at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Sue took great pride in her nearly uninterrupted 60-year stretch of pursuing higher education and managing successful legal and teaching careers and was certainly an inspiration to those who knew her.
