Beatrice "Bea" Rowe, 89, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 11 April 2017.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Friday, 14 April 2017 at 1:00 PM.

Rabbi Jeffrey Falick officiated.

The family of Beatrice "Bea" Rowe will be gathering through the evening of Sunday, April 16 at the residence of Dr. Marla Rowe Gorosh and Neil Gorosh, 6071 Northfield Rd., West Bloomfield MI 48322 . The phone number is 248-626-6168.

Due to Passover, there will not be a formal shiva. The family will be gathering informally on Friday immediately following the interment, on Saturday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Family members include:
Beloved wife of the late Seymour Rowe. Cherished mother of Dr. Marla Rowe (Neil) Gorosh, Dr. Debra Rowe (Dennis Bartleman) and Steven (Lynn) Rowe. Proud grandmother of Dr. Loren (Nathalia) Gorosh, Alex (Marisa Rico Gorosh) Gorosh, Amanda (Max) Brown, Lilah Clevey, Ethan Rowe, Adam Rowe and Emma Rowe. Loving sister of the late A. David Kahn. Dear sister-in-law of Marcia Kahn, the late Arnold Sukrow and the late May Berkley. Also survived by loving step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Beatrice was dedicated throughout her life to making the world a better place. She helped start Focus Hope, created a food program for poor, pregnant women and children in Detroit, convened interfaith communities to reduce prejudice, created a parenting center in Pontiac, was a strong advocate of Planned Parenthood, and much more. She was also involved in Detroit Urban League, the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, and the National Council of Jewish Women. Beatrice was a systemic thinker and effective change agent who worked on solutions to core societal problems, not just addressing the symptoms.
