Klinger was recognized as a 60 year Licensed Funeral Director by the Michigan Funeral Directors Association at their recent Convention in May of 2017. Mark graduated with his colleague, friend and boss, Herb Kaufman, from The Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science in 1957. Mark took great pride in knowing that he and Herb began their careers together at the original location on Dexter and Edison in Detroit in 1957, and were at the first funeral when the Chapel opened at our current location in Southfield in April of 1961. Mark's career at our Chapel spanned 35 years and extended when family or friends called and requested Mark to arrange and be with them throughout the entire funeral process. Mark was a true professional who loved people and the Jewish Community, and never took for granted the sacred trust and responsibility given to him. Our hearts go out to Fran and the entire Klinger family. Mark will be missed, but never forgotten. It is suggested that those who wish to further honor the memory of Mark E.
