Barry Allen Blauer



Barry Allen Blauer, 68, of Huntington Woods, Michigan, died on 26 September 2017.

The Memorial Service was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Thursday, 28 September 2017 at 2:30 PM .

Rabbi Tamara Kolton officiated.

Family members include:
Beloved husband of Ellen Blauer. Cherished father of Matthew Jacob Blauer (Fiancee Amber Button), Jennifer Rachel (Toby) Kmet, Heather Elizabeth Blauer (Partner Benjamin Roxberry) and James Andrew Blauer. Cherished grandfather of Claire Minette Blauer, Jackson James Blauer, Lazarus James Kmet, Dexter Allen Kmet. Dear brother of Sandra (Robert) Blattberg, Paul (Sally Meitz) Blauer and Avra (Blair) Williams. Beloved nephew of Bryna Broder. Also survived by former daughter-in-law Mandy Lynn Tefft and Amber's son Chase James Button; by many loving and loved nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his second family at the Susan G. Komen 3-Day.

Barry was active in the community as a Berkley School Board member, in the Huntington Woods Men's Club, the Royal Oak Optimists Club, and the Berkley Rotary Club. He walked to raise money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, Relay for Life and March of Dimes Walk America. He loved to golf, bowl, play bridge, sail, and work in the yard. Barry approached the diagnosis and symptoms of ALS with grace and gratitude, continuing to walk to the library every day to choose books, as well as spending time enjoying his children and grandchildren.
