Fred Saul Steingold, 81, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died on 08 August 2017.

The Funeral was held at Beth Israel Congregation of Ann Arbor on Thursday, 10 August 2017 at 1:00 PM .

Rabbi Robert Dobrusin officiated. Interment at Beth Israel Memorial Garden in Arborcrest Cemetery, 2521 Glazier Way, Ann Arbor MI 48105.

The family of Fred Saul Steingold will be gathering through the evening of Saturday, August 12 at the residence, 3410 Andover Road, Ann Arbor MI 48105. The phone number is 734-994-5815.

The family will gather for shiva beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a Religious Service at 7:45 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday, the family will gather beginning at 3:00 p.m. through the evening.

Steingold, Fred Saul 4/16/36 – 8/8/17. Beloved son (Nathaniel and Rosaline), brother (Faye and Nancy), husband (Sarah), father (Mark and David), grandfather (Rebecca and Noah), uncle, friend, and colleague. Fred was born in Detroit and attended Detroit Central High School. He earned both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Michigan. He subsequently worked for several years as an assistant city attorney for the City of Ann Arbor and then entered private law practice. Over the course of more than forty years as a private attorney, he worked with several well-respected Ann Arbor law offices and firms. Fred was both well-known and highly regarded by the local legal community. In addition to practicing law, Fred was a prolific writer on legal topics, publishing many books for general readers, including several best sellers. Fred also loved classical and jazz music and opera. He played tenor sax both as a young man and also later in his life. Fred’s greatest love was reserved for his family, including in particular his wife of 58 years and his two sons.
