Sylvia Pomerantz
Sylvia Pomerantz, 99, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 18 July 2017. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Wednesday, 19 July 2017 at 1:00 PM . Rabbi Joseph Krakoff and Cantor Daniel Gross officiated. Interment at Hebrew Memorial Park, 33230 Gratiot Ave, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
The family of Sylvia Pomerantz will be gathering through the afternoon of Friday, July 21 at the residence of Anita and Robert Naftaly, 5402 Pleasant Lake Drive, West Bloomfield MI 48322. The phone number is 248-661-0222. Religious services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Following interment, the family will gather through Wednesday evening; on Thursday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and from 6:30-9:00 p.m.; and on Friday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Family members include: Beloved wife of the late Benjamin Katz and the late Meyer “Mike” Pomerantz. Cherished mother of Harvey Katz, Anita (Robert) Naftaly, and Janice Owen (Dr. Neil) Alexander. Mother-in-law of the late Michael I. Owen. Loving grandma of Dr. Bruce Millman, Dr. Alan (Lisa) Millman, Matthew (Stefanie) Owen, Erica (Dr. Alex) Tapper. Adoring great-grandmother of Binyamin Millman, Rivka Millman, Isaac Owen and Eden Owen. Sister-in-law of Phyllis Novetsky (Jerry Goudsmit). Also survived by Robert’s children, Lisa and Howard Brown, Beth Kirshner; and their children Emily Brown, Zack Kirshner and Benny Kirshner. Survived by Janice’s stepdaughters, Talia Alexander, Hannah Alexander and Miriam Alexander. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Devoted daughter of the late Jacob and the late Rose Novetsky. Sister of the late Pearl Novetsky, the late David (the late Sylvia) Novetsky, the late Sam (the late Gail) Novetsky, the late Peter (the late Charlotte) Novetsky, the late Abraham Novetsky, the late Sally (the late Arnold) Margolis, the late Morrie Novetsky, the late Hy (the late Marie France) Novetsky. Sylvia’s family expresses their gratitude to her loving caregivers, Valerie Todd and Blossom Morrison. Also thanks to Viola Lytle and Toya Strickland.
