Eleanor Lehman Sloman, 104, of Southfield, MI, died on 13 July 2016.

The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Thursday, 14 July 2016 at 2:00 PM .

Rabbi Daniel Syme and Cantor Neil Michaels officiated.

The family of Eleanor Lehman Sloman will be gathering through the afternoon of Friday, July 15 at the residence of Sally Marx, 112 Linda Lane, Bloomfield Hills MI 48304. The phone number is 248-646-1266.

Friends are welcome to visit on Thursday following the interment until 8:30 p.m. and on Friday from 12:00-6:00 p.m.

Family members include:
Beloved wife of the late Robert A. Sloman. Cherished mother of Steven (Margaret) Sloman and Sally (the late Frederick) Marx. Loving grandmother of Celeste Sloman, Spyder-Ryder Sloman, Schuyler Sloman, Julie Sloman Marx, Andrew Sloman (Abbye) Marx, Carolyn Sloman Marx (Fiance Alex Carravallah) and Scott Edward Marx. Proud great grandmother of Franklin Ryan Marx. Dear sister of the late Adele (the late Dr. Nathan) Schlafer and the late Corinne (the late Anthony) Marlowe.

Eleanor Sloman was born in Denver, Colorado in 1912. Her grandparents had headed west toward the California gold rush in the mid 19th century, and the family settled in Pueblo, Colorado.

She came to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan. As an English major, she loved the Wolverines and campus life. She met her beloved Robert Sloman during this time at U-M. They were married in 1939, after he completed his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Eleanor and Robert settled in Detroit and raised 2 children, Steven and Sally. Eleanor delighted in her interests of the stock market and investing, travel, and many social gatherings. She was devoted to her family, including 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She and Robert were married nearly 60 years.
