Rhoda Krauss
Rhoda Krauss, 92, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died after sunset on 04 April 2016. The Funeral was held at GRAVESIDE on Wednesday, 06 April 2016 at 11:00 AM . Rabbi David Nelson officiated. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Rhoda Fenberg Krauss, born on January 16, 1924, passed away on April 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Krauss, daughter Iva Krauss, brothers and sister, Morton Fenberg, L. Bennett Fenberg and Shirley Fenberg Barish and by her parents Eleanor and Bennett Fenberg, who owned the Colonial Department Store on State Street in downtown Detroit. She is survived by loving in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, including Ben and Vicki Craine of Bloomfield Hills. Her family and friends always kept her close, because she deserved it; she earned this many times over because of her caring, graciousness, and thoughtfulness. During World War II, Rhoda and her mother Eleanor transported returning wounded soldiers for the American Red Cross. Rhoda and Fred were founding members of Congregation Beth Shalom, which held its first meetings and services in the basement of their home in Oak Park. For a period of time Rhoda worked at Beth Shalom as an executive secretary. She also worked at Adler-Schnee and later had a business where she designed and sold printed stationery and invitations. Rhoda will be remembered for her good humor, her kindness, and her contributions to the community.
