Donald Sanford Sucher



Donald Sanford Sucher, 89, of Georgetown, KY, formerly of Detroit, died on 15 February 2015.

The Funeral was out of state on Sunday, 22 February 2015.

Family members include:
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Shirley, three sons, Bruce (Kelly), Jeffrey (Karen) and Steve as well as one daughter, Carmie. He also leaves 6 grandchildren. Brother of the late Gerald (the late Jean) Sucher, the late Irene Sucher Bader, the late Shirley Sucher Cohen (the late Bernard M Cohen). Brother in law of Martin Bader. Also survived by his loving caregiver Mary Green.

Donald served in WWII in the navy, he was a Member of the Kentucky Colonels. He raced sailboats and was commodore of the Great Lakes Yacht Club. Donald and Shirley owned Echo Valley Horse Farm and bred Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors in 1988 and also Chris Evert, winner of the filly triple crown. He loved golf and going to horse shows with his daughter. He was a member of the Keeneland Club, the Thoroughbred Club, and Greenbrier Golf and CC. Donald never met a stranger and was kind to everyone.
