He was selected and attended Cass Technical High School as a music major where he became the first member of his family to graduate high school. During World War II, he was a B-24 pilot flying from the North African and Italian theaters. After the war, he returned to Detroit where he met Shirley, his wife to be, and entered the building business, which led to a long career as a commercial contractor and later surety consultant for the industry. He spent many hours composing music for the piano, some of which was produced and recorded in the 1990's. Edward Gluklick was a prolific writer of trade publications and construction seminars. A true renaissance man, Ed acted in the movie Grand Torino, starring Clint Eastwood who also directed the movie filmed in Detroit.
