Morris Katz, 99, of Henderson, NV, died on 26 October 2014. The Funeral was held at The David Oppenheim Memorial Chapel at Machpelah Cemetery, 21701 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220 on Sunday, 02 November 2014 at 2:00 PM . Cantor Marcia Tilchin officiated. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
The family of Morris Katz will be gathering through the morning of Monday, November 03 at the residence of Minda Tilchin, 13302 Borgman, Huntington Woods MI 48070. Religious services will be held at 6:30 PM Sunday and 9:00 AM Monday. The family will be receiving visitors from 6 PM until 8:30 PM Sunday evening and from 9 AM to 11 AM Monday morning. Family members include: He is survived by his wife Delores Katz, his sister Anna Katz Brenner, his brother Jerry Katz, and children Ray Katz, Sandra Green, and Daniel (Ann) Sibears. His also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was revered by his family and loved and admired by many. Morris Katz, husband of Delores Katz of Henderson, NV, the eldest son of Barnet and Ida Katz, brother of Anna Katz Brenner, Lillian Gold, Isadore Katz, Jeannette Tilchin, and Jerry Katz, passed on October 26, 2014 at 99.5 years old in Henderson, NV. He was born March 21, 1915, in Laporte, Indiana and at a young age moved to Detroit, MI where he lived for 70 years before relocating to New Mexico and Nevada. A memorial service will be held at Machpelah Cemetery at 2:00 on Sunday, November 2nd. The cemetery is located at 21071 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220, phone: (248) 542-1146.
