FUNERAL DETAILS
Marion ShlomMarion Shlom, 90, of Southfield, Michigan, died on 14 September 2014. The Memorial Service was held at The David Oppenheim Memorial Chapel at Machpelah Cemetery, 21701 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220 on Tuesday, 16 September 2014 at 12:00 PM . Rabbi Aaron Bergman and Cantor Daniel Gross officiated. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
The family of Marion Shlom will be gathering through the evening of Sunday, September 21 at the residence of Dr. Gordon and Mrs. Susan Shlom, 3174 Bloomfield Park Drive, West Bloomfield MI 48323. The phone number is 248-855-2761. Friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday from 3:30-8:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 3:00-8:30 p.m. In obvervance of Shabbat, the family will not be gathering from sundown on Friday until sundown on Saturday. Religious services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. Family members include: Beloved wife of 65 years of the late Philip Shlom. Cherished mother of Dr. Gordon (Susan) Shlom, Larry Shlom, Judith (Stuart) Levitz, and Richard (Carla) Shlom and the late Susan Krieger Shlom of blessed memory. Loving grandmother of Samara (Nathan) Cohen, Suzanne Shlom, Dr. Scott Levitz, Michael Levitz, and Adam (Michal) Shlom. Proud great grandmother of Blaine and Aliyah Cohen. Loving sister of Evelyn Sell. Dear aunt of Barry (Mariko) Sell. Devoted daughter of the late Lillian and the late Max Vernon. Dear daughter-in-law of the late Libby and Simon Shlom. Sister-in-law of the late Yetta and Max Sallan, the late Bertha and the late Nathan Novograd, the late Irving and the late Celia Shlom and the late Winnifred and the late Bill Borkin. She is also survived by cousins in Israel and Australia and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends. Marion loved to travel and in later years participated in day trips and thoroughly enjoyed retirement. She was a member of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Jewish Women International, Southfield Seniors Retiree Club of Providence Hospital, Jewish Historical Society, a thirty year member of Secretaries Group of Providence Hospital and a 65+ member of Adat Shalom Synagogue.
