Riva Thatch, 92, of Commerce Township, Michigan, died on 17 February 2014. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Thursday, 20 February 2014 at 11:00 AM . Rabbi David Nelson officiated. Dearest mother of Aviva (Robert) Sandler, Rhoda (Michael) Kamin and Dr. Leonard (fiancee Karen Bell) Thatch. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth Sandler, Eric Sandler, Jennifer (Lance Bowen) Sandler-Bowen, David (Jolene) Kamin and Carrie (Christopher) Swan. Proud great grandmother of Ian Sandler-Bowen and Henry Benesch Swan. Beloved daughter of the late Emma Markelevitsch Frank and the late Isaac Markelevitsch. Beloved sister of the late Samuel (Rose) Mark. Ms. Thatch was a Holocaust survivor and a longtime teacher at Hillel Day School.
