Jerome Sonenklar
Jerome Sonenklar, 92, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, died on 14 February 2014. The Funeral was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Sunday, 16 February 2014 at 1:00 PM . Rabbi Harold Loss and Hazzan David Propis officiated. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
The family of Jerome Sonenklar will be gathering through the evening of Monday, February 17 at the residence of Marta and Benjamin Rosenthal, 27220 Willowgreen Ct., Franklin MI 48025. The phone number is 248-626-1442. Religious Services will be held at 7:00 PM. Sunday and Monday Evenings. Due to limited parking on the street there will be shuttles from Franklin Hills to the shiva house all day on Sunday and beginning at 4:00PM Monday. Family members include: Beloved husband of 68 years of the late Adele Sonenklar; Cherished Father of Richard (Partner Gregory Haynes) Sonenklar, Marta (Benjamin) Rosenthal and Susan (Scott) Leemaster; Loving G J of Rachel Rosenthal, Jennifer (Jordan) Glass and Jacob Leemaster; Proud great grandfather of Talia and Emmett Glass; Devoted son of the late Cantor Jacob and the late Pearl Sonenklar; Brother of Charlotte (the late Ozzie) Simmons, the late Sol (Hilda) Sonenklar and the late Clare (the late Robert) Tucker; Brother in Law of the late Robert Blumberg; Son in Law of the Late Max and the late Thelma Blumberg. Jerome Sonenklar was the Vice-President and Treasurer of Madison Electric and the Vice President of Standard Electric Company. A lifetime member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, Jerry was the son of the late Cantor Jacob Sonenklar, beloved Cantor of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Jerry was also a member of Franklin Hills Country Club.
